November happenings

I realise it's been a month since I last blogged, this past month has just been a blur of crochet and sniffly noses!
So here's a quick recap of our household over the last month:

I managed to successfully organise a baby shower for my good friends C and A who are having a baby due at the end of December. This was the cumulation of months of pinteresting, crafting and discussion so will have its own blog soon!

End of October saw an old school friend L come down to Bristol from Leeds to visit. It was her first time seeing Pebble. L is very good at English (did a related degree) and bought these sweet books for Nemo she had when she was a child.
They are such sweet stories with lovely illustrations.
We went to the zoo on the Sunday and actually saw the lions
Nemo loved the lions and the monkeys best

pebble wasn't so impressed!
But she was quite taken by the butterflies

The next weekend was bonfire night and  Nemo watched 3 displays in total. On the Thursday Nemo spent ages watching a display just down the road from the living room window. On Friday we went out our church's display and on Saturday we went to a display with our friends C and A having the baby in December. It was funny because 2 years ago we went to a display with them apart from Nemo was a young baby in a carrier, whereas this time C had a plus 1 in the form of a rather large bump, Pebble was the baby in a carrier and Nemo was running about!

What I was pretty impressed with is that in the first photo I'm actually breastfeeding Pebble! First time round I never quite mastered the sling feeding thing but I'm pretty good at it now!
Nemo loved the fireworks and kept saying "good firework". Pebble was moderately impressed too!

Hubby had some meetings in Leicester so that week we stayed at my Parents house for a couple of nights. Dad was away but Nemo and Pebbble enjoyed seeing Grandma, even if they were a bit grumpy that day!
Whilst we were there we went for an eventful walk. As you can see we took Poppy's ball (which Nemo has inherited due to Poppy's lack of interest!) Nemo was walking around with the ball when this yellow Lab ran up to us, we was pretty young and very playful and took the ball from Nemo. Cue Nemo bursting into tears, the older lady who owned the dog was mortified and started chasing after her dog, the dog who thought this was a great game proceeded to run around whilst his owner desperately ran around after him. I couldn't help but laugh it was so funny!

I eventually managed to get the ball from the dog by distracting him with a stick but he had rather destroyed the ball.
The poor woman was so mortified I lied and told her the ball already had a hole in it!

My Dad came down for the day last week. Nemo was very excited he was coming, he now knows who I'm talking about when I say Grandma and Grandad which is really sweet. He loves to repeatedly play voice messages from them left on our answer phone. We went to @ Bristol which is a great interactive science museum. Most of it is above Nemo's age however he enjoyed pressing various buttons and it has this awesome builders yard with rubber bricks, wheel barrows, hard hats and hi vis jackets!

This year I persuaded by husband to get the kids Christmas jumpers. Nemo's lights up and Pebble's plays Christmas music!

The rest of November really consisted runny noses and bugs. Between me and the children we've been tag teaming it!

I was determined to try and finished my attic24 harmony blanket so I could start my Christmas crafting.
Well I really put my mind to it and taa daa!

I love it! It's been moving around the house but it mainly living on our bed.
I've been doing some other crafts now that's finished but I think I've gone on long enough now!

Invasion of Llanberis, Day 5 and 6

A cute picture of Pebble, just because :)

On Day 5 I went with my Mum and Sister to a fabric shop in Anglesea

Mum wanted some fabric for a dress, cue a mass debate over which fabrics matched. My Dad and hubby were watching the kids outside for a while but eventually came in and waded in on the debate! Mum ended up picking a lovely autumny fabric which was incidentally the fabric that my hubby also really liked so we ended up getting the same 2 fabrics. I guess Pebble and Mum will be matching again!

Next door there was another craft/ gift type shop which had this amazing sign outside!

They also has a good collection of baskets. My husband teases me for my basket obsession! Looking around the living room right now I can see 12!

We stopped at a RSPB centre by the South Stack Cliffs in Anglesea, which had a cafe for lunch. Nemo ended up with chocolate cake due to hubby's weakness for cake!

We left my parents and sister there and headed for a little cove down the road with a gorgeous beach.

Nemo wanted to paddle, I started by just rolling up his trousers, then took off his trousers before eventually stripping him off entirely :)

I should have just stripped Nemo off straight away (amateur mistake!) as all his clothes were damp so for the rest of the day he modelled his Dad's jumper with a hair band keeping it in place! I think it was adorable!

Nemo and hubby engaging in building an epic sandcastle. Hubby takes sand castle building very seriously and carefully plans his builds. Sometimes he struggles to cope with Poppy and Nemo's 'help' with the building!

My parents and sister joined us later. Unfortanately my sister was unwell but had a good rest on the beach.

Afterwards we popped to a bar/ restaurant place called the oyster catcher for a drink. http://www.oystercatcheranglesey.co.uk/photos.shtml
If you're ever in the area you should definitely go here it's amazing! The bar downstairs had all this cool decoration including table and chairs in a sandpit!

Me, my husband and Dad all ordered hot chocolates and we ordered milk for Nemo. When the hot chocolates arrived Pebble proceeded to eat almost all of my Dad's marshmallows from the top. Seeing Nemo's face my Mum decided to have a Grandma intervention and order Nemo a hot chocolate instead of milk! Its fair to say Nemo very much enjoyed his hot chocolate :)

Upstairs there are beach huts with heaters to sit in! How cool!

We decided then that we were going to return to have chips for lunch the next day!

Day 6 and our last day on holiday. In the morning me and my Mum went for a swim in the lake at Llanberis. This was originally my sisters idea but still unwell she couldn't come with us -convinient? :-p Me and mum jumped in and yes it was very cold- even with wetsuits on!

It was quite hard to swim with the wetsuit on however after a few minutes it did mean that we were comfortable with the temperature of the water. Though my hands and feet went completely numb. After coming out I realised I'd stretched the top of my foot on the rocks and I hadn't even felt it.

After this me, hubby and the kids went on the lake train ride with my brother, his wife and the twins. It had beautiful views and like the rest of the holiday we had amazing weather.

Poppy could come too. She didn't like being on the floor and crawled under the seats to visit a couple at the end of the carriage! She came back and stayed when she was promoted to a seat! Note the cup of tea to warm me up!
Im wrapped up in lots of layers as I was a bit cold from my dip in the lake!

After the train ride we went to have some chips in the Oyster Catcher. My parents, brother his wife and sister joined us there.
This time we got a beach hut :)

Nemo set about putting stones from the plant pots into each space. It looked quite artistic!

After chips we headed to llanddwyn beach.
Thought I'd be artistic!!

We headed back and had a final meal together before going home the next day.

We were so lucky with the weather and to be fair Llanberis and Anglesea had more to offer then I had realised. May well go back again I think.
