Pebbles first beach trip

I was wondering why Nemo and Pebbles colds were taking so long to go away. On the back of a cold bug it transpired on Friday that they also have a stomach bug.
We were thinking of going down to Cheddar Gorge on Saturday but given the sickly children and good weather we decided a trip to the beach would be better.
We almost went to Weston-Super-Mud but decided to do something a little different and head to Brean way instead. We decided to go to the main beach however whilst driving there we found the area was inundated with people dressed as cowboys. Hundreds of them so we kept driving until we found a quiet beach. It worked out pretty well actually, you paid £3 to park all day on the beach and having the car next to you on the beach was really practical. We were gutted to find Dogs were allowed on this beach so we could have bought Poppy after all :( oh well we know for next time.
The beach itself was ok, like Weston the sea was so far away it didn't really feature in the beach experience for the majority of the day! The scenery was pretty though and it was sandy!

We set up camp and put up our sun tent which was super useful with Pebble. We all had lunch.

Daddy had bought everyone some dounuts from the shop and gave Pebble and Nemo one each!
I adore this photo, the way they are both doing the same thing, looking the same way. Despite my protests Pebble ate the whole dounut!
Pebble was pretty happy after that!

First we made a fish (of course it had to have a smiley face!)

Then we made a T-Rex!

Of course our camp had to include sticks, because they're boys!

Nemo played some football with Daddy

Then it was time for a an icecream!

Nemo was pretty happy too after the icecream!

Nemo getting us to work!

Nemo got burried...

Then Mummy... (A familiar sight!)

Then Daddy! (I wanted him to have the pregnancy experience!)

As it became late afternoon the sea eventually came high enough so that with a bit of a trek we could get there.
It was time for Pebble to have her first paddle in the sea
The water was just so mucky! But the kids had a great time!

A little Nemo footprint in the sand

8 sandy feet :)

Because I plastered the children in sun cream twice whilst we were there they had so much sand stuck to them it felt like we brought half of the beach home with us. Needless to say there was a lot of sand left at the bottom of our bathtub!

Thick as thieves

Nemo makes me proud in so many ways, he is such a great character and generally speaking his terrible twos are being pretty kind on me! I think one of the things that makes me proudest is what an amazing big brother he is to Pebble. I can honestly say I have never seem him show an ounce if malice towards his sister. Nemo loves Pebble, he confidently said her name before he said Mummy!
As Pebble is getting older she is noticing Nemo much more and is at the stage were she wants to play with everything he's into. Now Pebble can crawl she can chase after him and get her hands on his duplo creations! Usually Nemo is very good about this! I just love the little relationship they are building!
Here is Nemo as he arrived in the ward ready to meet his sister

Here is Nemo and Pebble meeting for the first time. Nemo got a doll last Christmas from his childminder which makes noises when you press it's tummy. For a while when we first had Pebble Nemo kept pushing Pebbles tummy to make her make a noise!

I have been lucky not to have dealt with jealousy Nemo loved his sister from the very beginning!

Nemo loves hugging his sister!

And pretty soon Pebble fell in love too! She doesn't seem to mind some of the awkward ways Nemo has held her!

They love playing together. Nemo's so funny, sometimes his does need reminding to share the toys, but when he takes a toy and gets praise for giving it back, he then starts giving her piles of toys!

So lucky to have these monkeys.
I was so glad to get this photo, on walks Nemo and Pebble will sometimes hold hands. It is so sweet!

I know they will argue and wind each other up but I hope they stay close as they grow older.
I'm am lucky to have an older sister, older brother and younger brother. They are all amazing people in different ways and it's nice to have different relationships with all of them.

Me and my older brother were very good at winding each other up as we grew up. (And probably still are!) We are in some ways quite different; my older brother isn't a very tactile person however I am so naturally I like to give him massive hugs! He is also probably more sensible then me! I suspect however we may be more simular that either of us would like to admit! I always knew he loved me though, he wouldn't be that vocal about it but would make the nicest gestures sometimes. I remember once probably when I was about 11 he bought me a tiny silver looking grandfathers clock in this nice black case. Considering my brother was about 15 at the time it was a really sweet gift! It has been nice having children at the same time as my older brother (he has the twins) as we have more common ground now!
Here is me and my big brother when we were little....
See I don't think he minds hugs too much really!

Autumn is coming....

Our trips to the woods over the last 2 weeks have show us that autum is starting to creep in.
I love autumn, it's probably my favourite season and one of the reasons I got married in October. Spring and summer are nice but I don't find hot weather that comfortable (even though we didn't seem to get much of it this year!) I much prefer to snuggle in lots of layers (and scarves!) I also love heavy rain, the heavier the better. I think the only time I didn't enjoy it was when I went to school. You would get wet walking to school them stay damp all day. As an adult I haven't really encountered this problem!
Lovely holly :)
The blackberries are mainly gone now in this area but we went blackberry picking last week and have a stash in our freezer.

The ground is just starting to get some leaves on it now. I know in a few weeks there will be masses of fallen leaves.

Fairy homes :)

Still mainly green at the moment though

I love the effect of this tree trunk

The woods are definately like a playground for Nemo

Nemo has the cutest way of saying flower he says something like "fla-wah"

This weeks lidl offer was on waterproofs for children, this included willies with light up soles. They are amazing! Wednesday night we went to get the offer as a lidl employee told me that they start putting the new offer out on the night before. I think my husband thinks I'm mad because we may have also bought a pair for Pebble when she's walking! I this picture you can just make out the green light. They are really nice with a soft lining in them too.

Nemo holding Pebble's hand :-D

Nemo throwing the stick for Poppy.
It probably doesn't take a genius to guess what happened next. Shortly after I took this picture Nemo fell over. He got completely soaking wet and was screaming so I took off his trousers and jumper which were drenched. Pebble had a coat, hat and blanket on so I took her blanket, sat Nemo in the pram with just his nappy and top on and gave him the blanket. Of course in the middle of this is started to rain which made Pebble unhappy. I had not brought the rain cover as it looked just a sunny day so just had to quickly get back to the car! Lucky it wasn't torrential rain!

I must stop blogging about the woods, it must be starting to get boring!
